Efforts"
Welcome
The
Love Volunteer Fire Department proudly protects 4,000+ people in a
40-square-mile area of southwest Desoto County, Mississippi. We are an
all-volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to providing the highest
quality Fire, Rescue, and Emergency Medical Services to our community.
LFD-Station 10 is one of 10 volunteer fire departments in the county. The
volunteer departments work hand-in-hand with 4 career city departments serving a
population of over 110,000.
In addition to Fire and Rescue services, the LFD is one of only a few stations
in Desoto County to operate a Jr. Firefighter Program through the Boy Scouts of
America. In 2002, we proudly added Explorer Post 602
to allow young adults
(14-21) interested in the fire service, the opportunity to experience it hands
on.
Our most ambitious in-house challenge has just begun: With the Insurance
Companies raising insurance premiums, Love Fire Department is working closely
with the County Fire Coordinator, Board of Supervisors, and MS. Rating Bureau to
lower the fire rating to a class 9. This would allow for lower insurance premiums for
the covered area.

Mission Statement
It
is the mission of Love Volunteer Fire Department to provide both emergency and
non-emergency care, to the people that live, visit, and travel through the area
served by the Love Volunteer Fire Department, without regard to race, creed,
color, or financial status. These services include those emergencies both
manmade and natural. We are constantly striving for improvement in the care
delivered, the quality of members, patients, and members of the community.
Our
mission is to protect the lives and property of the citizens by use of
Inspections, Education, Community Involvement, and when necessary Emergency
Response. Our primary goal is to protect and save lives, we accomplish this by
fire education to lower our responses.
The
Love Volunteer Fire Department was established to serve the residents of the
fire district in any way we can. Community involvement is the key to fulfilling
our mission.
